BARIPADA – THA :- 25/03/2026 Sudhir Kumar Naik, Chhunryta Organizer and Researcher of Sungadiya under Baripada Municipality, has been conferred Doctorate Degree on Mayurbhanj Chau Dance by Global Nation Open University, USA. Shri Nayak has been awarded for his long-term contribution. His research paper entitled “History, Performance and Contemporary Context of Mayurbhanj Chhau Dance” which analyzes the ancient roots, manaswara, rhythm and potential of the dance for internationalization. As an actor, he has acted in more than 100 dramas and many films. After taking charge as the editor of Uttarasahi Chhunrity Institute, he aims to attract youth towards Chhu through workshops and digital campaigns and to revive and renew Mayurbhanj on the global stage, starting from the soil of Mayurbhanj. All the staff of Uttarasahi Choonrity Institute, artists and Chou lovers of the district have congratulated him after receiving the news.
