
Lykera, 25/10 (Fast News Odisha): 48 hours have passed since the armed robbery incident at the house of Maley Kumar Naik in Kurmal village under Lykera police station late on Wednesday night. So far, the police have not been able to catch the robbers. The involvement of gangs outside the state is suspected in this robbery incident. IIC Dilip Behera said that the police are working hard to nab the criminals involved in the robbery. Four masked youths entered the house and took away gold jewelery worth Rs 2.60 lakh, Rs 22 lakh and a single barrel gun with licence. Before they left the house, the two uncles who were in the house tied up the nephew and smashed his mobile phone and fled. The robbers are suspected to be from outside the state as they speak in Hindi. Efforts are on to nab the dacoit by checking the CCTV footage attached to the various roads connecting the village. Mallay Naik and his wife left for treatment at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar on the morning of the incident due to obvious physical ailments. His brother Biju Kumar Patel, who lives in Mundaloi village, Meelolapali police station, Sambalpur, came and was with his nephew at home. At this time, the robbers entered the house and threatened to kill the gold ornaments and life. He stole the money. Before returning after completing the operation, they smashed the mobile phone and took away a licensed gun. The uncle tied one of the nephews downstairs and the other upstairs and killed him. It is said that 40 to 50 varas of silver, 15 varas of gold, 1.5 lakh rupees and 15 thousand rupees were taken from the post office attached to the house.
