Earlier greetings cards were used to greet each other. But it has disappeared now When the New Year came, people flocked to buy greetings cards at shops in different areas. But for a few years, these greeting cards are no longer found in Baliguda city of Kandhamal district. With the increasing use of mobile phones, messages are sent through WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, Messenger and Twitter. The demand for technology has also increased. People can easily travel thousands of kilometers through mobile phones. Greeting friends and relatives living far away. Even through video calling, they can feel each other’s presence. The tradition of sending such handwritten greetings has died out. Greeting cards are a means of expressing one’s feelings. About 1 month before the celebration of the New Year, greetings were sold in various shops in the area starting from 5 rupees to more than 200 rupees. But due to reduced demand, its sale in shops has also been completely stopped, as a result of which the greeting business is no longer being done, the traders said.
