The severity of winter is gradually increasing in Kandhamal district. Dense fog cover is seen till ten in the morning. Dense fog and cold winds disrupted life in Tumudibandh, Kotgarh, Baliguda, Daringbadi, Raikia, Judayagiri and Tikabali areas of the district in the morning. As the temperature drops more in the morning and evening, common people are taking the help of warm clothes and fire. Due to the effect of winter, the traffic on the streets has reduced and the market area is also looking deserted in the morning. The elderly, children and daily laborers are particularly affected. In terms of winter, the administration has advised to be cautious, wear warm clothes and not go out at night unless absolutely necessary. People are seen all over the district sitting around the fire with wood piles to escape from the cold.
