Baripada: 17-11-2025 In order to celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of Rikh Sardar Ballabh Bhai Patel, the district administration organized a “Unity Walk” today. Honorable Minister, Minister of Housing and Urban Development and Public Enterprises Dr. Krishnachandra Mohapatra inaugurated as the chief guest. Honorable Rajya Sabha MP Ms. Mamata Mahanth, Honorable MLA Baripada Mr. Prakash Soren, Honorable MLA Sarasakana Mr. Bhadav Hasda, Honorable Jaundikaya Bangriposhi Ms. Sanjali Murmu, senior leader of BJP Mr. Candra Soren participated in the event. On this occasion, Hon’ble Minister Shri Mahapatra said that the creation of independent Indian states was possible only due to his strong efforts, reflecting the ideals of Mahamanishi Sardar Ballabhai Patel’s life. Today’s Unity March is being held with the aim of instilling devotion and patriotism in the hearts of the countrymen towards the country’s motherland, Sardar Patel’s formation of Akhand Bharat and the ideals of national unity. In addition, Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ideal mantra is being organized with the aim of making India a healthy and drug-free nation, building an India-self-reliant India by taking the indigenous people. Similarly, other guests expressed the opinion that today’s Ai Ekata March is being organized to keep the ideals of Sardar Patel’s unity, integrity and security of the country intact, to continuously revive nationalism among the people and to keep everyone united in the spirit of unity for the integrity of the country. On the occasion of the said unity march, which started from Chou Malaya and traveled about 10 km in the city, various programs on patriotism and traditional Chou dance and tribal culture of Mayurbhanj were presented on the stage near MPC Higher Secondary School and Balasore Circle. The said march started from Chou Maliya and passed through Fire Office, Belgadia, Maa Ambika Temple, MPC Junior College, Srijgannath Temple, Balasore Circle, Traffic Street, Biju Patnaik Street, Kacheri Road and ended at Chou Maliya. On this occasion, the guests awarded the meritorious students of various competitions and felicitated the sportspersons who have shown excellence in various national and international level sports gatherings. Various public representatives, various leadership groups of BJP, workers, senior administration officials, various departmental officials, police administration officials, students of educational institutions, inmates of sports hostels, volunteers, various sportspersons, media representatives and citizens took part in the said unity march. Under the supervision of District Sports Officer Subhish Naik and the coordination of various departments, the said program was organized by Baripada Upazilapal D. Melisindhu conducted Parida.
