
The district administration and the district police administration jointly organized an awareness walkathon on the occasion of Cyber Security Awareness Campaign-2025 of Mayurbhanj. District Governor Mr. Hemkant Say and District Security Officer Mr. Varun Guntupalli inaugurated it by flagging it. On this occasion, the District Security Officer said that the main objective of this walk is to create widespread awareness among the public to take precautions to stay safe from the clutches of cyber fraudsters. Similarly, the District Collector said that nowadays it is seen that many times through phone calls, to share PIN password, OTP for updating ATM/PAN/Aadhaar card etc., to show financial lure by installing TV towers, to persuade to pay some money in the name of employment, to ask to share information on matrimonial sites, to give free gifts, to give interest-free loans through various apps, SIM swaps, digital arrest messages. Giving, asking for clicks on dubious unknown links, sharing personal information or photos/videos with strangers etc. Apart from this, people are being warned to use strong passwords to protect their personal information and not to act rashly if they receive any messages or calls from unknown phone numbers. Gochayat, Gautam Kisan, Reserve Police Inspector Aloy Kumar Kanungo, District Information and Public Relations Officer Vikas Ranjan Mohanty and other police officers, officers and staff of the fifth battalion, various departmental officers, employees, private institution workers, students, volunteers, sportspersons, Buddhists, social workers and common citizens participated.
