
Statewide cyber security awareness campaign-2025 is continuing from October 18 to September 17 to protect people from cyber fraud. In this series, Cyber Security Campaign-2025 has been launched by Hon’ble Chief Minister Mr. Mohan Charan Majhi in a state-wide function organized at Bhubaneswar Killing Stadium on 18th. On this occasion, the Chief Minister took an oath to protect the people of the state from cyber fraud and launched the Cyber Security Awareness Rath which will travel across the state to spread the message of cyber security awareness among the people. In this series, a district level mega program related to Cyber Security Awareness Campaign-2025 has been organized by the district police administration today at the local Martyrs’ Memorial Bhawan in Baripada. Honorable MP Rajya Sabha Mrs. Mamata Mahanth, Honorable MLA Udala Mr. Bhaskar Madhei, MLA Sarasakana Mr. Bhadav Hasda, MLA Ladasahi Mr. Sanatan Ekita, District Council Chairperson Mrs. Bharti Hasda, Mayor Mr. Krishna attended the program under the patronage of District Security Officer Mr. Barun Guntupalli. Nanda Mohanty, Municipal Commissioner Ms. Jem Das, DIG of Eastern Police Mr. Pinak Mishra, District Collector Mr. Hemkant Say, RCCF and Shimilipal Tiger Conservation Director Mr. Prakash Goginani and IAS Probationer Kashish Bakshi were prominently present. In the beginning, the District Security Officer welcomed all those present and said that the campaign has started from 18th of this month and will continue till 17th of November. The awareness campaign in the district will be conducted through various programs both online and offline for a month. The main objective of this cyber security awareness campaign is to protect people from all sections of the society from cyber fraud. In today’s busy lifestyle, the use of smart phones and online activities have become indispensable in everyday life, be it at the government level, private level or social level, for the advancement and use of technology in the busy life style. But if we don’t use it carefully and safely then we will fall prey to fraud. As per the changing times, cyber fraudsters are also using their crooked intelligence and adopting new innovative ways to surprisingly make people their victims because unfortunately common people make mistakes in taking the right decision at that moment and become victims of fraud. Greed, fear and irresponsibility are the main reasons for falling victim to cyber fraud. In the hope of getting free or low-cost profits through a bank account, downloading an unknown video or receiving a hoax phone call, irresponsibly clicking on fake links and sharing your personal information, you become a victim of cyber fraud. So let’s all be aware, be careful and be safe. The main objective of the campaign is to provide cyber security to all sections of the society, such as to ensure that students do not fall prey to temptations and cyber fears with safe digital practices, to make victims of cyber crimes by showing hidden videos, to parents and teachers to monitor children’s online activities, to check job aspirants for fake jobs, selling fake bank accounts and SIMs, inducing fraudulent investments, sex under fear. Exploiting, sexually exploiting women and teenagers through fake calls, first in rural and semi-urban areas, educating smart phone users on proper use of UPI, OTP, fake calls, warning senior citizens about safe banking transactions and financial fraud, group digital payments to SGHs and tribal groups, fake loans, fake In terms of investments, traders and professionals will be made aware about data security, protection from professional exploitation, precautions in digital payments, etc. The awareness campaign will be organized both online and offline through various programs such as cyber security pamphlets, video shows, radio jingles, security messages, debate competitions, street plays, nook plays, awareness rides, walks, cycle rides, spot quizzes, conferences on cyber crime, online quizzes, reel making competitions, etc. But public awareness is not only possible by the police department but it is hoped that its successful implementation will be possible with the cooperation of all and wished for the cooperation of all. All the invited guests highlighted the different types of cyber fraud and how to avoid it, be aware and stay safe. In other words, when a fake phone call comes in, stop and think, check it properly, and then go ahead and do something like stay safe. In case of being a victim of cyber fraud, it is advised to call 1930 or report on cyber crime portal and take help of cyber police. On this occasion, the Hon’ble MP made all present read a collective oath to be safe from cyber fraud. Senior administrative officers, police officers, various departmental officers, bank officers and employees of other financial institutions, students, members of self-help groups, volunteers and media representatives were present in the program.
