Malkangiri, 25/9/25: Today, MP Balabhadra Majhi conducted an awareness program about the Su Kanchan Samridhi Yojana. This morning, MP Ing Majhi joined as the chief guest at the Malkangari State Bank of India main branch and took steps to open accounts for girls under 10 years of age under the Su Kanchana Samriddhi Yojana. District Magistrate Somesh Kumar Upadhyay, District Education Officer Chittaranjan Manigarahi, SBI Chief Manager Vinod Kumar Bisoy, Lead Bank Manager Chakradhar Naik and Deputy Branch Manager Ajith Kumar Acharya Manchasin were present in the programme. In this event, the MP encouraged the parents of girls below 10 years of age to open accounts under this scheme. He said that this is a savings scheme for the prosperity of girls in India, such as for girls’ education and meeting marriage expenses. In this, parents or legal guardians will get an opportunity to open a bank account for girls under 10 years of age. This scheme was inaugurated by the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi on 22 January 2015. The MP informed that this is part of Narendra Modi’s Beti Bachao Beti Pabhaao campaign. Accounts of 100 girls of 22 schools under Malkangiri Municipal Council have been opened today under this scheme. The MP and the District Magistrate gave the accounts to the parents of the girls who had recently opened accounts under the scheme. In this program, the MP himself paid 10,000 and the bank employee 15,000, that is a total of 25,000 rupees. The District Collector also encouraged the parents and informed that he has opened an account for his daughter under this scheme. The MP also made people aware about Prime Minister Jeevan Jyot Bima Yojana. Notable Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyot Bima Yojana is a one-year life insurance plan that offers life insurance coverage of Rs 2 lakh to bank account holders. District Information and Public Relations Officer Pramila Majhi, District Social Welfare Officer Gauri Naik, Sub-District Social Security Officer Anand Rao, MP representative Sanjay Sarkar among others were present.
