Kandhamal, (Fast News Odisha): Antharyam Sahu of Kashipur ranger of Rayagada district has been arrested on charges of misappropriation. On Friday, a special team of Jaipur Vigilance conducted simultaneous raids at 9 places in the state, including the office and residence of the Kashipur Ranger. Mr. Sahu, who started his career as a forester in 2007, has accumulated immense wealth in 18 years of employment. According to preliminary estimates, 5 buildings, 9 valuable plots, 263 grams of gold jewelery and 27 lakh 99 thousand 659 rupees have been deposited in banks and post offices. Apart from this, household goods and cash worth Rs 9.43 lakh have been seized. According to the information, vigilance has raided two houses of 5022 square feet and 1000 square feet in Kandhamal district Baliguda, 1600 square feet in Shruniketa under Daringbadi police station, 1650 square feet house in Berhampur Techno Park and one house in Daringbadi. Similarly, 6 plots have been sold in Baliguda city and suburbs, while one plot in Brahampur Yogiyapalli and 2 plots in Khodasingi have been found from the sources of vigilance. Kandhamal District Baliguda SBI has a locker in the name of Mr. Sahu and his wife. Raigarh District Kashipur Forest Ranger’s office and his official residence including his wife’s house at Baliguda, Kandhamal District, another house of his at Baliguda, Mr. Sahu’s house at Daringbadi, father-in-law’s house at Kardpada village under Vaiyaa police station, Nayagarh District, Yogiapalli in Kukudakhandi Block, Ganjam District and also a relative’s house at Domuhani in Bhanjnagar Vigilance was on the rise. Mr. Sahu has been working as a ranger in Kashipur since August 10, 2023. In Kashipur forest area, in the last 2 years, the vigilance department has been accused of widespread corruption in various schemes. The raid was carried out with the help of a special team of Jaipur Vigilance and Raigarh Vigilance Team.
