Koraput, (Ranjit Nayak) Date: 18.12.2025 Rikh: The main ceremony of the national level folk festival Parva-2025 has been inaugurated on Thursday evening in the permanent Parva area! Urban Development Department Minister Krishna Chandra Mohapatra joined as the chief guest and first inaugurated the Pallashri Mela! Later, Minister Shri Mahapatra lit the torch in the main ceremony held under the chairmanship of Manoj Satyavan Mahajan. Culture is the identity of a nation, the symbol of our identity, so we will maintain our cultural traditions through the ages, said the main authority! The culture and history of Koraput soil is introduced through parva, the chief guest expressed that the products produced by our tribals are being bought by foreign tourists. Parva said that it is a matter of pride for us to be recognized as a national tribal festival today! The minister spoke on the justification of parva to preserve the tribal cultural traditions! Koraput MLA Raghuram Fish, Pattangi MLA Ram Chandra Kadam, Lakshmipur MLA Shalvi Sawanta Kotpad MLA Rup Bhatra, District Council Chairperson Sasmita Maleka, SP Rohit Burma joined as the chief guest of honor and gave a speech about the approach and purpose of Parva celebration! The students of Koraput Children’s Vidya Temple performed the final music in the student hall! The District Collector, while giving the welcome speech, the Additional District Collector Tapan Kumar Naik gave thanks! At the end of the meeting, the guests honored the people and artists who achieved success in various fields! On the first night of the festival, Dhemasha, Odissi, Mastiputar wooden dance, Dhemsha dance, Santhali and music performance by prominent vocalist Umakant Barik captivated the audience.
