
Malkangiri, 16/9/25: The 74th District Council meeting was held this morning in the local district council conference room under the chairmanship of the district council chairperson Samari Tangulu. Lok Sabha MP Balabhadra Majhi, Chittarakonda MLA Mangu Khil, District Council Deputy Chairman Khylin Pavan Baidya, District Magistrate and District Magistrate Somesh Kumar Upadhyay, Bankhand Officer Sai Kiran, Chief Development Officer and Executive Officer of District Council, Naresh Chandra Shabar were present in the meeting. Various developmental works were discussed in this meeting. Mr. Shabar informed the house about the discussions held in the previous meeting and tribal development, rural drinking water supply and sanitation, health and family welfare, agriculture, primary education and mass education, irrigation, rural development, national highways, social welfare department etc. In the meeting, new projects were discussed to solve the complaints related to drinking water. Similarly, officials were directed in the House to complete the ongoing drinking water projects on priority basis. The MLAs and other public representatives present in the meeting reviewed the progress of the proposed work to solve the shortage of doctors and other medical problems in the various health centers in the various areas of the district under the health department. In particular, the meeting emphasized on completing all the works with the tender process, construction and repair of new roads, and presenting proposals through discussion with MLAs and local public representatives for various works as needed in different areas. The representatives of the public discussed everything and reviewed the various works going on in the entire district and the various welfare schemes enacted by the state government in their respective regions under various schemes and expressed the opinion that efforts should be continued to speed up all the necessary works. Along with this, there was a discussion about the purchase and availability of fertilizers required for agricultural work in the district. After looking at all the issues discussed in today’s meeting and being aware of the proposals raised by the MLAs and members of the District Council and other problems in their areas, the District Governor directed the concerned departmental officers and officials to take immediate action and resolve the same. Among others, all the district council members, panchayat committee chairpersons, district level officers and vidios were present.
