A fatal road accident took place in Baripada on 18/10 (PNS) at Dwarshuni Ghat of National Highway No. 49. Both the bus and the car were coming towards Bangiriposhi from Vishoi Pattu when the accident took place at Dwarshuni Ghat. However, while the bus carrying Sriganesh was overtaking the car, due to carelessness, it lost its balance and overturned on the car. While the passengers of both the bus and the car were injured, 5 were seriously injured and more than 20 passengers were injured. Bangiriposhi fire brigade and ambulance team reached the spot and rescued the injured and admitted them to Bangiriposhi group health center for first aid. While the Bangiriposhi police are investigating the incident further, there has been a reaction in the local area due to frequent accidents on the Ghati road. However, due to the ongoing work on the Ghati road, the administration has banned the movement of cargo trucks from 10 am to 2 am, but it is reported that such accidents are happening frequently due to non-compliance and careless driving.
