
Baripada – 23/10/2024 Rikh Sambarani, who made history by participating in her maiden tournament in China and Sri Lanka, was escorted to the Shahid Memorial Bhavan yesterday by the Mayurbhanj District Vigil Guard Bhanjsena, who felicitated the Sambarani at Baripadar’s entrance Palabani Bypass. In the evening, he was given a grand welcome at the promotion ceremony and foundation day organized by his institution and the Future Star Sports Academy where he was trained. As the Indian women’s rugby team played five matches in Asia Emirates Rugby Sevens Series Leg-1 in China, Eskarani Tudu was the top scorer scoring 24 points and scoring the first for the Indian team against the Philippines. He scored the winner against UAE and was instrumental in taking the team from 10th place to sixth place. The Asia Emirates Rugby Sevens Series Leg-2 held in Sri Lanka again, the Indian women’s team played 5 matches and scored 5 points for the team in the evening. In today’s event, Bhanjsena town president Raja Khan and youth members organized a bike rally at Shahid Memorial Bhavan as the chief guest. Minister, Government of Odisha, Dr. Krishnachandra Mohapatra felicitated international rugby star Samsarani Tudu, among others Additional District Magistrate Bhukabandhu Naik, District Sports Officer Shubashish Naik, District Physical Education Sports Officer Bhagirathi Mallik, Bhanjsena District President Pintu Maiti, Ex-District Sports Officer Pradeep Kumar Behera, District Sports Association Editor Vijay Kumar Das, Former MLA Candra Soren and all the staff members of the academy were present. Adviser Somnath Singh moderated the stage while Dibaranjan Das, founder of the academy thanked everyone for the success of the programme.
