New Delhi: A secret defense agreement has been signed between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. According to this agreement, Saudi Arabia will invest about 10 billion US dollars (about Rs. 79,000 crore) in Pakistan and in return, Pakistan will deploy 25,000 soldiers to Saudi Arabia. According to reports, Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Army Chief Asim Munir visited Saudi Arabia after the Israeli airstrike. Meanwhile, the defense agreement was signed with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Pakistan will deploy its 4 brigades, 2 squadrons of Pakistan Air Force and 2 naval fleets in Saudi Arabia. These soldiers will protect the country from any attack on Saudi Arabia. Pakistan will supply Saudi military equipment, ammunition, mortars, tanks and short-range missiles. Instead, Saudi Arabia will invest $10 billion in infrastructure, mining, energy and security. However, every Pakistani soldier who will be deployed in Saudi Arabia will receive a monthly salary of 6,000 Saudi Riyals (about 16,000 US dollars). Saudi Arabia has pledged to help ease Pakistan’s tensions with India and Afghanistan. Saudi Arabia is reportedly interested in buying JF-17 and J-10 fighter jets from Pakistan and is discussing buying fifth-generation fighter jets from China to counter Israel. Joint campaigns and training programs will be organized between the Air Force and Navy of both the countries. It is also planned to increase bilateral trade from 5 billion dollars to 15 billion dollars annually.
