Nuapada: On the eve of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday, the “Healthy Women, Empowered Family Abhiyan” is going to be launched across the country from September 17th. It is a national level campaign which is planned to provide comprehensive health check-ups and services to women and girls of all ages on a priority basis through camps to build a healthy future generation in all states including Odisha. A preparatory meeting for this campaign was held in the headquarters conference room under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Madhusudan Das. It was attended by District Chief Medical Officer Dr. Dhaneshwar Sethi. NGOs will be involved. This campaign will cover all women from infancy, childhood, child, adolescent, adult and senior women. Nursing Officers, LTs, Health Specialists, Doctors, Women and Child Development Department Assistants, Supervisors, all teachers, ANMs, Mission Shakti Group will be involved in the campaign. Women will undergo comprehensive health checkups like NCD screening for high blood pressure, diabetes, oral cancer, breast cancer and cervical cancer l Screening for tuberculosis, sickle cell and thalassemia, ANC screening where required l Appropriate vaccinations will be done l Apart from health screening awareness will be created in the camps about menstrual hygiene, reduction of oil and sugar consumption. In today’s meeting Dr. Lalit Mohan Bishi, Dr. Kurikanath Shetpathi, Dr. Umakant Meher, Dr. Tanmay Tripathi, Dr. Phillip Dash, DPM Satya Narayan Tripathi, Samaj Mars Officer Sangeetha Pan, Mars Officer Pratamant Bhoi, District Education Officer Karunakar Bhuy, District Education and Public Relations Officer called upon the officials present for 100 percent success of this national program in Nuapada district.
