Kandhamal: (Fast News Odisha): Baliguda Police has got a success in “Operation Beat” campaign started by Kandhamal Police. On Monday, Baliguda SDPO Ramendra Prasad and police station officer Samvit Swai held a press conference and gave the information about the success. On behalf of Baliguda police, SI Bholanath Panda and SI Sanjay Kumar Swayu arrested two persons while patrolling at different places and seized 5 country guns and 4 wooden items along with 127 kg of ganja from them. Two separate cases have been prosecuted. According to information, on September 7, SI Bholanath Panda was patrolling and checking and seized two native hand-made guns from Dhole Pradhan of Takimaha village of Tilori Panchayat. He knew that he did not have any license from him. He filed a case on this in 274/25. Similarly, during the ganja monitoring patrol of SI Sanjay Kumar, Susan Bindhani of Gluda village of Tilori Panchayat was guarding the ganja packet with a gun in a secluded place. For so long, the police were sitting on the floor. After interrogation, a total of 3 country guns, 4 wooden buttstocks and 127 kg of ganja, estimated to be worth Rs 6 to 7 lakh, were recovered from him. For a long time, these two made indigenous guns in their village and used them in various criminal cases including the Ganjai mafia. The price of each native gun was Rs 30,000 to 40,000. SDPO Ramendra Prasad said that two people have been arrested and further investigation is being conducted. Police are also looking for others involved.
