Malkangiri, 31/8/25: Today, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated the multi-purpose building and multi-purpose hall at Malkangiri Sadar Mahkuma. In a state-level special program organized at the Railway Auditorium in Bhubaneshwar under the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Chief Minister Shri Majhi inaugurated three multi-purpose halls and one town hall, i.e. four halls. The District Administration and Municipal Council of Malkangari have organized the District Self-Government Day under the direct supervision of District Collector Somesh Kumar Upadhyay. Malkangari MLA Narsingh Madkami attended the program as the chief guest, while 19 councilors of Malkangari Municipal Council including Manoj Barik and Deputy Chairperson Kabita Mahant attended the event. The people of Malkangiri district will benefit from the inauguration of 300-seat Multi-Purpose Hall at Chakriguda, Sukuma Road side of Malkangari, 500-seat Multipurpose Hall behind Tardana Temple, 500-seat Multi-Purpose Hall near Sudhar House and 300-seat Malkangari Town Hall. On this occasion, District Collector Shri Upadhyay thanked the Chief Minister through Avasi. He said that 6 multi-purpose halls have been constructed in Malkangiri and Balimela in the district. This can be done especially at affordable prices for custom work, meetings, etc.
It can immediately be used as a flood shelter during natural calamities, said the District Collector. Similarly, two women from Malkangari town, Snehalata Mohanty and Pramila Katchim, shared their experiences with the Chief Minister. Among others present were Additional District Collector Rajswa Vedbar Pradhan, District Council Chief Development Officer and Executive Officer Naresh Chandra Shabar, District Information and Public Relations Officer Pramila Majhi and District Council Finance Manager Manas Mishra. Municipal Council Executive Officer Rajeev Lochan Naik managed the program while all the staff of the Municipal Council office participated in it. Informatively and happily for the district, the Bid Work Framework prepared by the Adim Banda Tribe of Khairput block has been enhanced by presenting it to the Chief Minister, Divisional Ministers and other guests at the state level function. Usha Padhi, Principal Secretary, Housing and Urban Development, specially ordered this beadwork to bring the products of the primitive Banda tribe to the people.
