Baripada, 4/12 The government has expressed urgency in completing the historic Rasagobindpur Airstrip project at the earliest. To review the pending issues regarding the handover of land, a special expert committee consisting of Civil Aviation Advisor Suresh Chandra Hota and Land Acquisition Officer Umakanta Barik held a meeting today with district officials under the chairmanship of Additional District Collector (Revenue) Netrananda Mallik. For the proposed project, 160 acres of Defence Department land have already been transferred. Out of this, 47 acres have been included in the DPR (Detailed Project Report) as well as incorporated into the master plan, informed Additional District Collector Mallik. Furthermore, to meet the total requirement of 443 acres of land for the project, it has been decided that the Gram Sabha processes will be completed by the end of December, and the entire land acquisition process will be completed within one year, stated Deputy Collector Dr. Dayasindhu Parida. Present at today’s discussion were Land Acquisition Officer Shibarām Munda, Executive Engineer (PWD) Rohan Ray, RTO Prashant Kumar Parida, Deputy Collector (Revenue) Shraddha Suman, the Tehsildars of Morada and Rasagobindpur, DIPRO Mayurbhanj, SDIPRO Baripada, along with other officials and departmental staff.
