
Tumudiband: (Fast News Odisha) One tusk elephant has died in Jhiripani forest of Belghar range under Tumudiband block. According to forest department information, the elephant is suspected to have died due to extreme cold. After receiving information about the incident, a team of forest department led by RCCF Visambara Nilambaram from Berhampur reached the spot. The team consists of DFO Baliguda Ghanshyam Mahant, ACF Suryakant Behera, Sunan Bagh and Belghar Veterinary Surgeon Dr. Rahul Malagiri was present. Necessary samples have been collected from the body of the dead elephant. Postmortem will be done at OUAT in Bhubaneswar tomorrow. Sources said that the elephant’s tusk will be kept safely in the Forestry Museum.
