Baripada Ta 13/12 (Fast News Odisha) Mayurbhanj Foundation and Future Star Sports Academy with the support of Mayurbhanj Athletic Association, National Level Maharaja Sevens Rugby Tournament has been organized at Baripada Stadium. Foundation Chairperson Maharani Rashmi Rajyalakshmi Bhanjdeo presided over the inauguration ceremony with Baripada MLA Prakash Soren, District Magistrate Hemkanth Say, Security Officer Barun Guntupalli, Additional District Magistrate Netranand Mallik, Baripada Deputy District Magistrate Dr. Mercysindhu Parida, Maharaja Prabin Chandra Bhanjdeo, Mayurbhanj Athletics as guests. General Secretary of the Association Vijay Kumar Das and Football Editor Amar Kumar Sethi inaugurated the tournament and encouraged the players. The tournament, held for the first time in memory of Maharaja Shriram Chandra Bhanjdeo, will feature Baripada, Odisha’s Future Star Sports Academy, Killing Rugby Team, Future Hope Harlequins Kolkata, Future Hope Yakel Kolkata, Kolkata Police, Tamil Nadu Police, Jharkhand Hawks, Delhi Hurricanes and Mumbai Magicians in the men’s category. 9 teams and 6 teams including Future Hope, Kolkata Police, Killing Rugby, Saraswatipur Siliguri Assam, Baripada Odisha Future Star Sports Academy have participated in the women’s division. A total of 20 matches were played in both men’s and women’s divisions on the opening day. The program was conducted under the leadership of District Sports Officer Dr. Subhish Naik while Somnath Singh conducted the stage. Co-organizer Dibyranjan Das gave the details of the tournament while Maharaja Sri Bhanjdeo gave vote of thanks.
