Kandhamal :- (Fast News Odisha) A tusk elephant died two days ago in Baliguda Bankhand of Kandamal district and the issue of herd of elephants has become a headache for the local forest department. For the last two days, a herd of elephants has been encroaching in the protected forest of Laseri under Kotgarh sanctuary. Balgopal Behera has informed that there is departmental information that the elephant has been searching for food from the Rayagakhand forest border to the area, said the forest officer. Then on Friday night, several farmers of Bandapipili village were accused of destroying crops such as berry, mung, cotton, banana and judung. The villagers have alleged that they neglected to drive away and protect the polluting elephants while they were engaged in the post-mortem work.
