Baripada, mayurbhanj Today, the second voluntary blood donation camp was organized by the ORMAS-managed Mayurbhanj Fruits and Vegetables Farmer Producer Company at the Prayash Hall Murgabadi, Baripada. The Additional District Magistrate, Shri Dukhabandhu Nayak, attended the program as the Chief Guest and formally inaugurated the blood donation camp. On this occasion, he highlighted that in the present changing times, there is often a sudden and urgent need for blood to save precious lives of patients suffering from incurable diseases such as thalassemia and sickle cell anemia, as well as for accident victims and patients requiring emergency surgeries for serious ailments. He emphasized the importance of voluntary blood donation to address this critical need. He further stated that organizing such a camp for the welfare of society under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative is a highly commendable effort by the Farmer Producer Company. Expressing gratitude to all blood donors for their noble contribution, he added that spreading awareness and encouraging voluntary blood donation on a wider scale is the collective responsibility of everyone. Under the direct supervision of the Baripada Blood Bank Officer, Dr. Soumya Ranjan Nayak, blood collection was carried out with the support of Dr. Nilesh Das, Lab Technician Prafulla Majhi, Staff Nurses Ruchika Khurana and Shakuntala Mahanta, along with Karunakar Jena and others. A total of 35 units of blood were collected during the camp. Among those present at the program were ORMAS Deputy CEO Bhagyalakshmi Raut, Additional Executive Officer Shri Shantanu Kumar Nayak, District Information and Public Relations Officer Bikash Ranjan Mahanty Baripada Sub-Divisional Information and Public Relations Officer Shishir Kumar Munduya, lifelong member of the District Red Cross Society and blood donor Amar Kumar Sethi, along with Shubhakanta Jena Prakash Majhi, Gyanaranjan Das, Sandeep Sabu, Supriya Jena, Monalisa Padihari, Ranjan Kumar Behera, and officials of various Farmer Producer Organizations, who actively participated in and managed the camp.
