
Shulwanpada, 20/1 (Fast News Odisha): On the occasion of Mayurbhanj district’s festival of holy corn, the 24th annual football competition has been held at the local Netaji Mini Stadium at Azad Club, Valiashol Anukul. A total of 16 teams participated in the 2-day competition, and the final match was held between Master 11 Baghda and Damashol teams. Master 11 Baghda won by 1-0 goals and was declared the champion this year. The game was managed by Debraj Mahanth while Sunaram Soren and Mantu Soren assisted as linemen. Sarpanch Raimat Murmu of local Kantisahi Panchayat, Durga Hembram, retired animal inspector, teacher Sukul Murmu and village head, Majhibaba Meghray were present in the said game. Sujananda Hembram managed the stage while Soren was in attendance. The guests shook hands with the players and cheered. The guests kicked the ball and the players started the game by blowing balloons. After the end of the game, the guests awarded the winning team. The winner Master 11 baghda team got 10 thousand as first prize, runner up Damasahi team got 7 thousand, third prize Jay Ma Durga, Bankocha team 3 thousand and fourth prize Jagdish team. Bhola has been awarded a cash prize of Rs 2,000.
