Malkangiri, 31/1/26: A press meet has been held under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Somesh Kumar Upadhyay regarding the Malyavant festival. The District Magistrate has called upon everyone to enjoy the Malyavant Festival-2025 with joy and happiness by maintaining peace and order. On behalf of the district administration, 500 policemen and BSF jawans have been deployed to tighten the security system. CCTVs have been installed in the DNK playground and across the city to monitor all movements. From January 29 to February 6, the sale of liquor has been banned in the entire district. On the first day of the festival, Bollywood artiste Trisha Chatterjee, on the second evening by Diptirekha Padhi, on the third evening by Kuldeep Patnaik and international Odissi dance artist Shaswat Joshi, on the fourth evening by Mantu Chhariya and on the opening evening by renowned vocalist Yasser Desai and Hollywood artiste Shahini Mishra. Local artists will perform art from 5 pm to 7 pm. Every night there will be a drama performance. This year, 120 stalls have been given to self-help groups at Pallisree Mela. 20, 30 food, 55 and 15 stalls have been exempted for various departments. 22 sanitation workers have been employed for sanitation. Malyavant Manch is named after Shaheed Tamma Dora Rang Manch. 3000 chairs have been arranged for sitting. A grand procession will be organized from Jagannath Temple to DNK Grounds at 9 am of the festival. The municipal council has also made proper arrangements for parking. Proper entry and exit roads have been arranged to control the crowd at the festival grounds. District administration has made all necessary arrangements for the festival.
