Kandhamal, (Fast News Odisha): Police have arrested two youths on the charges of abducting and sexually abusing a minor girl in Belghar police station area of Tumudibandh block in Baliguda sub-district of Kandhamal district. The arrested accused are Sushil Naik (18) and Nitesh Naik (20), both residents of Jhiripani village, police said. The incident revealed that on the afternoon of the 1st of this month, the 14-year-old girl went to take a bath in the nearby canal, but she did not return home. The family members searched the surrounding area and nearby villages but could not find him. He returned home the next morning. During the police investigation, the victim said that the accused had covered her face and kidnapped her and took her to the forest from Kadamsa. There she was sexually assaulted, physically assaulted and threatened to publish the video of the incident. He was illegally detained till night and then released. On the basis of the written complaint, a case has been filed in Belghar Police Station Case No.10/26, under Section 137(2), 127(2), 115(2), 62, 64, 3(5) of BNS and Section 8 of POCSO Act. According to the police, both the accused have been arrested. The medical examination of the victim and the accused has been completed and the statement of the victim has been recorded. The police said that all necessary legal procedures are underway.
