Baripada: 21.02.2026 An awareness workshop was held at Bangiriposhi Health Center under the chairmanship of District Non-Communicable Officer Dr. Jnendra Mohanty to create awareness about the ill effects of tobacco on health. In this, training has been given to Sarpanch and Samiti members of the Panchayat under the Community Health Centre. In this program, VDO Parmanand Khadei of Bangiriposhi block discussed the health effects of tobacco. Among others, District Non-Communicable Diseases Department Adviser Data Nihar Ranjan Parwari discussed the responsibilities of Sarpanch and Samiti Mankar in tobacco control program and raised awareness about COTPA Act 2003 and other tobacco control laws. Block Public Health Extension Officer and Block Program Manager among others were present and conducting the program.
