Malkangiri, 2/3/26: The first swimming training camp for girls has been started in the district by the District Emergency Department under the auspices of the State Natural Disaster Management Department. On the instructions of District Magistrate Somesh Kumar Upadhyay, Additional District Administrator Somnath inaugurated the program as chief guest at the District Panchayat Tool Center while Deputy District Magistrate Duryadhan Bhoi, District Emergency Officer Pratima Ranjan Sahu were present. The guests opined that this effort of the state government will be useful for the youth to avoid any drowning accidents. In this seventh round of training camp, 30 participants will be trained by Odraf team from March 2 to 7. On the first day of training, theoretical knowledge will be imparted while swimming training will be imparted tomorrow at Banda Bakuli Dam. Emergency Department Senior Revenue Assistant Kuna Nayak assisted in organizing the event.
