Madhya, 02/03: A youth site visit and discussion meeting has been held in Madhya Block MV-58 (at the foothills near Silakota Road) under the leadership of Malkangari MLA Shri Narsingh Madkami. Feasibility assessment was done for constructing a diversion weir/dam at this location. The meeting was held inside the forest on the side of the proposed dam. All the villagers present on the spot presented strong demands for the construction of a dam. They said that this claim has been going on since 1992. All together demanded to speed up the project. After the site visit and discussion, a resolution (proposal) was prepared. The project will be decided only after feasibility study. After the survey is done, it will be tested whether it is possible or not. Honorable MLA Malkangari – Mr. Narsingh Madkami, District MLA Representative Nihar Ray, District Block Representative Manodeepan Roy, District MP Representative Pan Bhai, Kottam Balaia, Sarpanch Bapanpalli, Samiti Vidar, Bapanpalli, Jaga Kamrami Bhavani Shankar Mukherjee, Mohan Mandal, Utpal Rai, Praneet Mazumdar, BDO, District, ACF, Kilmela Range (Forest Department), SE, MI Department (Minor Irrigation Department), Tehsildar Motu (Revenue Department), PEO Bapanpally, Block Staff and PRI members were present and all the villagers of Bapanpally Gram Panchayat were present. When this proposed diversion weir/dam is constructed, the areas of Bapanpalli, Narendrapur MM-V-58, Andaguda, Kunjarguda, Rodaguda, Gothanpalli, Kotaguda, Dhrubguda etc. areas will get irrigation facilities and the living conditions of the villagers will be greatly improved. The next step will pave the way for detailed survey, DPIR preparation and project proposal preparation.
