
Baripada, (06/03): Mayurbhanj district has started a regional agricultural machinery fair at Chou Padha in Baripada from today. The five-day long demonstration of state-of-the-art agricultural mechanization reflects the government’s promotion of farming using modern methods. Lok Sabha MP Nab Charan Majhi joined as the chief guest of the inauguration ceremony and inaugurated the program and expressed hope that the farmers will benefit by being informed about the modern agricultural machinery. Joining MLA Rairangpur Jalen Naik as the main speaker, he said that the government is committed to double the income of farmers by using scientific knowledge and organic fertilizers. MLA Badsahi, Sanatan Ekita Mahoday, Viddayika Bangiriposhi, Ms. Sanjali Murmu, Additional District Magistrate Dukhbandhu Naik, District Chief Horticulture Officer, Loknath Mishra, Major attended as the guest of honor and informed about the government’s subsidy system for modern agricultural technology and advised the officials to always support the farmers for better farming. Apart from this, the guests also advised the farmers to cultivate mixed crops, proper use and maintenance of improved machinery for profitable crops, better quality mechanical facilities and take advantage of opportunities. Saying that the farmers have acquired knowledge through this fair, the farmers have expressed the opinion that such a fair should be held for the development of agriculture and through this, farmers should be made aware. It is worth noting that 114 stalls have been opened in this agricultural machinery fair and various modern agricultural machinery are being displayed. Equipment will also be provided to farmers and self-help groups at subsidized rates by the government. It is a big effort of the government to avoid the current time and labor shortage and make farmers more successful.
