A poster for the promotion and dissemination of “Maraguda Folk Festival-2026”, a great festival of history, heritage, folk art and culture of Nuapada district, has been unveiled today under the chairmanship of District Collector Madhusudan Das. The poster was unveiled by the members of various committees. District Security Superintendent Omritpal Singh, committee member and eminent lawyer Prasanna Padhi, retired chairman Shiv Prasad Behera, bar association president Kshitish Ashok Bodankar, vice president Prakash Chandra Swayam, sportsperson Saroj Sahu, Khariar Road NAC chairperson Dr. Sonia Jain, Additional District Magistrate Subash Chandra Rait, District Chief Development Officer Lambodar Dharua, Upazila Magistrate Surmi Soren, APD Khasnidhi Bhoi, Chief District Medical Officer Dr. Dhaneshwar Sethi, Poet Surjit Singh Mahratha, District Sports Officer Rajendra Prasad, District Culture Officer Ramesh Mahara, District Information and Public Relations Officer Vidyapati Panda, various district level officials and media representatives were present. He called upon all the citizens of the district to actively participate in it and make it a success. It is noteworthy that, from 01 to 05 April 2026, Maraguda Folk Festival, Pallishri Mela, Book Fair and Buddhist discussion will be organized in Nupada National College. The festival will be held jointly by the District Culture Council, District Administration Nuapada and Department of Ordia, Literature and Culture, Government of Odisha. The festival will showcase the folk culture, traditions and talent of local artists of the district, along with various cultural and Buddhist programs and a colorful Star Night.
