Malkangiri, 15/3/26: Foundational Literacy and Numeracy Assessment Test has been successfully completed in Malkangiri district today under the Central Government’s major scheme ‘Ullas’-New India Literacy Program. The examination has been organized in about 865 centers of the district. It is a flagship program of the Central Government which aims to make illiterates above the age of 15 years literate. According to District Education Officer Chittaranjan Manigarahi, as many schools in Malkangiri district as have Yudais codes have been designated as FLNAT examination centres. Along with this, a special FLNAT center has been set up in Malkangari District Jail, where about 200 inmates have participated in the test. The literacy target of Malkangiri district was 35000, while in today’s exam, about 9603 people (up to 12th day) took the literacy test, Additional District Education Officer Manjulata Bhoi informed during the supervision. A team of staff from the School and Public Education Department conducted the examination and visited all the examination centers in Malkangari district today.
