Kandhamal, (Fast News Odisha): The forest department has arrested three people and taken them to court on the charge of complicity in the incident while cutting valuable trees from Tumoband range Haripur protected forest in Kandhamal district Baligukhand forest. After receiving information about the incident, forest guard Rupshree Dakhial reached the spot and with the help of the staff, the three accused were Saji Mallik, Meenakshi Mallik and Timas Mallik of Madaguda village and 29 trunks of valuable trees were seized from the spot. According to the preliminary investigation, the three arrested accused were trying to clear and confiscate the protected forest. Tumoband ranger Rajnikant Meher said that a case has been filed under the Wildlife Conservation Act and the accused has been arrested and prosecuted.
