Malkangiri, 18/3/26: In order to bring out the talent among the Kuni sportspersons in Malkangiri district, the district sports department has launched a talent search program for boys and girls under 14 years of age-2026. The selection process has started from today in three major places of the district. To provide facilities to the players, the district administration organized camps at Chittarakonda Government Higher Secondary School, Govindpalli Government SSD High School (for Matheli and Khairput blocks), Malkangiri District Sports Complex (for Malkangiri, Korukonda, Kalimela and Doa blocks). A total of 589 students have registered to participate in the programme. On the first day today, 8 new talents directly registered and showed their skills. On the first day, the athletics competition was held on March 18, in which 231 players participated. 284 players have registered for the Kho-Kho competition on March 22. 74 players will participate in the volleyball selection process on March 25. District sports officer Muna Turuk informed that the main goal of this program is to prepare these young talents of the district for state and national level in the coming days. All the staff of the sports department helped in organizing it.
