Baripada, dated 18.03.2026: A virtual meeting was held today through Oswan platform under the chairmanship of District Collector Mr. Hemkant Sai in order to further strengthen the fire prevention and safety system in all government hospitals and other institutions in Mayurbhanj district. In the said meeting, the necessary infrastructure, preparedness, strict adherence to fire safety regulations, regular conduct of fire safety audits, proper installation and maintenance of fire fighting equipment, electricity security, water supply system, and adoption of emergency and coordinated action in emergency situations were discussed in detail in all government hospitals and other institutions in the district. District Collector Mr. Sai directed all the concerned departments to strictly follow the fire safety standards in the concerned establishments, conduct periodic inspections, organize mock drills and increase awareness among all the employees. Similarly, he emphasized on strengthening the fire safety system in all government hospitals and institutions and also ordered to hire fire safety inspectors. The meeting was attended by all Sub-District Magistrates, Chief District Medical Officers, Additional District Medical Officers, all Sub-District Medical Officers, Group Development Officers, Superintending Engineers of Roads and Buildings and Rural Development Departments, Superintending Engineers of TPNODL, General Managers of Watco and Fire Support Officers from District Head Office and nearby Block Head Office Oswan Hall. attended.
