Malkangiri, 18/03 (Daily Malkangiri): A community education officer (BEO) in Kalimela block of Malkangiri district has been accused of working in his native block for many years, violating the rules of the state public education department. As per government orders, it is prohibited to post any officer in his own area or native block, an exception has been found in the case of Kalimela BEO Ramesh Bari. According to information, Mr. Bari previously worked as a teacher for 13 years and as headmaster for 15 years in Kalimela High School. After getting promoted, Pithaya has been working as a group education officer in that block for more than 3 years. There has been displeasure in the quarters of the senior educationist as to whose interests he has been kept there by ignoring the State Department’s letter number (SME-FE-OES-95-5922-2025/26512). Apart from this, there have been serious complaints about arbitrarily changing and harassing teachers. It is widely rumored that such a policy of the district education department is clarifying the ‘honey moon’ among the officials.
