
Press Release Baripada, (25/03): A pre-preparation meeting was organized by the district administration in Baripada to celebrate the upcoming holy procession in a smooth and orderly manner. In the said meeting, District Collector Mr. Sai emphasized in the meeting to conduct the Rath Yatra smoothly and supply the necessary wood for the construction of the Rath Yatra this year. At this time, information was discussed in the meeting about improving the police system, crowd control, traffic regulation and security system for disciplined system during the ride. The health department has been asked to ensure availability of emergency medical services, ambulances, medical teams and necessary medicines. Water supply, drinking water quality and sanitation were also emphasized. The electricity department was directed to have uninterruptible power supply, lighting system and alternative arrangements for emergency situations. Likewise, the municipality laid emphasis on cleanliness, garbage management, temporary toilet facilities and public hygiene. The fire department has been asked to be ready for fire prevention and disaster relief. The District Magistrate directed to work in coordination between all the concerned departments during the trip. Similarly, discussions were also held to coordinate with the temple management committee to properly observe the traditional rituals related to Rathayatra. The District Collector appealed to all the officials to act responsibly, increase vigilance at the grass root level and ensure a safe and comfortable environment for the devotees. In the said meeting, Additional District Collector Mr. Netrananda Mallik, Mr. Ishwar Chandra Naik, Upazilapal Dr. Mercysindhu Parida, Deputy Security Inspector Mr. Gautam Kishan, Baripada Municipal Chairman Mr. Badal Mohanty, District Chief Medical Officer Dr. Kishore Chandra Acharya, various departmental officers, servants, charioteers, and various volunteers were present.
