
Malkangiri, 4/4/26: An awareness procession and a campaign to write the name of the Ordaiyan language has been held in the district with the aim of spreading the Odia language. The program was organized from the local bus stand to the DNK playground and was inaugurated by District Magistrate Nathash Arvind Rajshirke by displaying the flag. Inaugurating the program, the District Magistrate said, “Oddiya is our mother tongue and it is the responsibility of all of us to protect its honor.” According to the government rules, it is mandatory to write name plaques in Ordia language in all commercial establishments and offices. This is not only a campaign, but a symbol of our pride towards our language and culture. The District Collector has called upon the people of Malkangiri to support this campaign and put up Odia name plaques in their shops and institutions. Additional District Administrator Somnath Pradhan, Additional District Administrator Rajsab Vedbar Pradhan, Deputy District Administrator Duryodhan Bhoi and District Information and Public Relations Officer Pramila Majhi were prominently present on the occasion. Among others, District Child Protection Officer Narayan Das and Municipal Council Executive Officer Rajeev Lochan participated in the program. The campaign was conducted under the close supervision of District Labor Officer Poonima Duruka. Assistant Labor Officer Tanmay Mandal and Divisional Officers Chinmay Rautharai, Vijayanand Panda, Riku Ranjan Officer and Sonali Roy assisted in this. Awareness was raised through this campaign to put up name boards in Odia in commercial establishments. Ganesh Saha, member of District Trade Union, students of Satya Narayan College and staff of District Child Protection Department enthusiastically participated in this program.
