
Malkangiri, 16/4/26: The district procurement committee meeting has been held under the chairmanship of District Collector Arvind Rajashirke at the FLC hall of the Malkangiri District Collector’s office. In this meeting, the minimum support price of mung, berry and cinnamon produced in the district for the season of 2025-26 Rabi has been fixed and the process of grain collection has been discussed in detail. Deputy District Collector Duryodhan Bhoi, Chief District Agriculture Officer Anil Kumar Praharaj, Sub-Registrar of Co-operative Societies Theophile Shabar, Regional Manager of Markfed Chandra Sethia, RMC Editor Sanjay Kumar Das, MP Representative Sanjay Sarkar and all the Block Agriculture Officers were present in the meeting. Presiding over the meeting, the District Collector ordered all departmental officers to work in a coordinated manner. He said that the administration will ensure that no genuine farmer is deprived of grain sales and that all basic facilities like drinking water and toilets are available to them in the mandi. Similarly, cooperative officers have been strictly instructed to keep the registration process through cooperatives transparent and prevent the prevalence of middlemen. The Chief District Agriculture Officer has been given the responsibility to inform the farmers about the mandi dates and government prices through the block level officers and to check the quality of the crops. All preparations have been completed at the administrative level so that farmers can sell their grain at the facility at the price fixed by the government.
