Malkangiri, 25/4/26: The 10th batch of life saving skills training program in Malkangiri district has been successfully conducted at District Panchayat Sadhan Kendra. Malkangari Bankhand Officer Sai Kiran, Additional District Collector Rajswa Vedbar Pradhan and District Emergency Officer Pratham Ranjan Sahu encouraged the trainees in this training program. In his speech, the Additional District Magistrate said, “Learning to swim is an essential life skill to save yourself and others from water accidents.” Many times precious lives are lost prematurely because of not knowing how to swim. This training will not only give the youth confidence, but also enable them to act as life savers or life preservers in times of danger. This effort of the district administration will help in reducing water accidents in the coming days. Similarly, the Bankhand officer addressed the trainees and said that this type of training is more relevant in areas surrounded by swamps like Malkangiri. This training will help save precious lives in case of natural calamities or floods. Every citizen should know not only how to swim, but how to rescue a drowning person in a scientific way. It is worth noting that 300 trainees have been trained in 10 batches in this training program. 30 trainees in each batch have learned various practical techniques of life saving in water. Kuna Nayak, Senior Revenue Assistant, was instrumental in making the entire program run smoothly.
