Malkangiri, 28/4/26: An innovative effort has been made by the district administration to fulfill the dreams of talented students in Malkangiri district. A special program called Summer Course for +2 Science aspirants has been launched under the guidance of District Magistrate Arvind Rajeshirke. It is being managed by a team comprising of District Education Officer Chittaranjan Manigarahi, District Welfare Officer Srinivas Achari, District Science Visitor Jagannath Prasad Behera, Govt SSD Higher Secondary School, Higher Secondary School, Chairman and Principal of Malkangiri No. 2 Science College under the leadership of Additional District Administration Somnath Pradhan. This course has started from 5th April 2026. +2 science aspirants from various high schools who had given HSE examination were invited for this. A large number of students are taking coaching in this integrated summer course to boost their confidence to appear in the upcoming NEET and JEE exams. Here the students are taught advanced +2 science courses and the problems and questions related to NEET and JEE are solved. Malkangiri is a tribal district where most of the parents are farmers and their children are talented but are deprived of studying in expensive private colleges. Similarly, it is difficult for them to educate their children in big cities like Brahmapur, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Rourkela. As a result, their child’s dream of becoming a doctor, engineer or science career, becomes a scientist. So far very few students have qualified for NEET and JEE. In view of this situation, the district administration has taken this step to fulfill the dreams of the students. Students are also being informed about the Chief Minister’s Meritorious Student Promotion Scheme under Post Matric Scholarship, where they can pursue higher education in the fields of medical science, engineering and higher sciences with government assistance without any financial burden on their parents. Experienced teachers and lecturers are imparting this teaching without any remuneration. Parents are highly appreciative of this initiative of the district administration. The district education officer and the principals of various government schools are working tirelessly to make this program a success.
