Today, during the state-level ceremony held in Bhubaneswar, Hon’ble Chief Minister Mr. Mohan Charan Majhi formally inaugurated the Cyber Security Campaign–2025. On this occasion, the Chief Minister administered a pledge to the citizens of Odisha to stay protected from cyber fraud and also flagged off the Cyber Security Awareness Rath (chariot) to promote the campaign across the state. In continuation of this initiative,
a district-level inaugural programme of the Cyber Security Awareness Campaign–2025 was held today at the conference hall of the District Collector’s Office, jointly organized by the District Administration and the Police Department.Hence, everyone must stay alert, cautious, and secure. The campaign aims to raise awareness among all sections of society, including: Students, to encourage safe digital practices and avoid online traps or cyberbullying; Parents and teachers, to monitor children’s online activities;Job seekers, to beware of fake recruitment and fraudulent investment offers; Women and minors, to remain vigilant against fake calls and sexual exploitation;Rural and semi-urban residents, to understand safe UPI and OTP usage and recognize fake calls; Senior citizens, to practice safe online banking and financial transactions;The event was graced by Superintendent of Police Mr. Varun Guntupalli, Additional District Magistrate Mr. Dukhbandhu Nayak, Mr. Ishwar Chandra Nayak, Chief District Medical & Public Health Officer Dr. Kishore Kumar Acharya, District Education Officer Mr. Purna Chandra Sethi, Baripada Divisional Forest Officer Mr. Gobinda Chandra Biswal, Registrar of Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanjadeo University Mrs. Sumati Singh, and Commandant of the 5th Battalion, among others.The Superintendent of Police informed that this campaign would continue from today till 17th November. Throughout the district, the awareness drive will be conducted both online and offline through a series of activities over one month.
