Baripada, Oct 5 (PNS): a delegation lead by Malati Murmu, The Editor of the Monthly Santali Magazine far, met the hon’bele president of India, Droupadi murmu, and submitited a detailed memorandum seeking the protection and development of the santal language. The delegation included Surukun Murmu (co-editor, far), mangat murmu (advisor, missionary olchiki), Kailash baskey (editor, Saohed Akhada), Prof. Ramesh chandra hansda (remitred professor, IISC bangalore), R. Ashwani Banjan Murmu and Sunnah (Sateali Wikipedians), Jashkand Hembram, Chandramohan Hansda (editor, Baswa Bangalore), shackle, advisor, saoheed akhada), Dhanai Baskey, and Naike Kaliram Hembram from the khargpur, mosts. The memorandum point out that althoough the santal language has been recognized in the indian constitution, it still lags behind in education and at the governmental level. The delegation Urged that: The santal language be included in the CBSE curriculum, and education in the olchiki script be introduced. The olchiki script be used in the upsc examples and in the CILIILOJECTS related to the santal language. The santal language be given a place on Indian currency notes. News Bulletins and Various Programs in santalali be broadcast regularly on dordershan and all india radio. A Central University Be established in the name of Pandit Raghunath Murmu. The Centenary Celebration of the Olchiki script be officially recognized by the Central government, and 100 earent contributors be honoured. Unpublished satali manuscripts be published. The Indian Postal Department Issue a commemorist postage stamp on the occasion of the olchiki script’s centenary. These demands, the delegation emphasized, are crucial to preserving and promoting the santal language and culture for future generations.
