Kolabira, 6.6 (Fast News Odisha): The government has appointed Sudshanshu Shekhar Badapanda as a member of the Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission (OIRS). A notification has been released by the Energy Department on Wednesday. It is worth noting that Mr. Badapanda has already worked as the Director (Market Operations) of the central organization Geet Controller of India Limited. Based on his long experience in the energy sector, the state government has given him this new appointment. On the contrary, the ORC, which had become stagnant, has been revived by the appointment of Mr. Badapanda. OIRs chairman Pradeep Kumar Jena resigned recently. As a result, the three-member commission currently has only Biswajit Mohanty as a judicial member. According to the various provisions in the electricity regulatory process, no orders or instructions can be issued by a member or any important case will not be heard. In this respect, the OIRs were a kind of dynamism. Mr. Badapanda is the son of Late Vinay Mohan Badapanda and Mrs. Sunanda Badapanda of Jharsuguda District Kumarband Achwal. Having started his course from Brijrajnagar OPM College, Sambalpur Gangadhar Meher College, Burla UGC and Indian Civil Service, Utirth Shripand has always served the district successfully in various high positions and brought glory to the district.
