
The Nuapada district administration has sanctioned a financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) for the treatment of a child suffering from Muscular Dystrophy or Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). Today, District Magistrate Madhusudan Das presented a check of Rs. Deputy District Collector (Emergency) Lalatendu Jaksena was present on this occasion. Earlier, on the basis of the medical board report of the CDM and PHO, Nuapada, the District Magistrate had recommended assistance to the state government. Accordingly, this financial assistance has been approved by the government. The money is expected to be spent on the child’s treatment, especially electric wheelchairs, appropriate physiotherapy, genetic tests and hospitalisation. The District Collector said that this assistance will be of great help in the treatment of patients.
