Although the Central and State Governments are implementing various public welfare schemes for the welfare of the poor and destitute, many deserving beneficiaries are not getting the benefits on time due to negligence and lack of awareness on the part of the departmental officials. As a result, there are complaints that the benefits of government schemes are delayed in reaching the right people. In this context, three widows of Kantsola village of Barakpokhari Panchayat under Kusumi Block have filed a claim for widow benefit in the Bamanghati sub-district census. They have complained of being deprived of benefits even though they have been eligible for a long time. Locals have demanded urgent action from the administration so that the benefits of the government’s social security scheme reach the deserving beneficiaries quickly.
