Malkangiri, 2/4/26: Malkangiri district administration has organized Aum Vhuthu Aum Introductory program on the occasion of Ordhya Pankh to promote the rich culture and traditional clothes of Odisha. This campaign has been extended in various government departments including the District Collector’s office as per the directives of the state government to promote the Ordhya language, literature and culture in the public mind. On this day, all the government employees and officials, including District Collector Arvind Rajashirke, dressed up in traditional orthodox hand-made clothes and came to the District Collector’s office. Additional District Collector Rajsab Vedbar Pradhan, Additional District Collector Administration Somnath Pradhan, Chief Development Officer and Executive Officer Dasharathi Sarabu, Deputy District Collector Duryodhan Bhoi, Additional Superintendent of Security Raj Kishore Das Major were present in the event. The program was organized by District Information and Public Relations Officer Pramila Majhi. This is a message to support the traditional weavers and promote Odisha’s textile industry globally. Workers are encouraged to take a photo or selfie of themselves in traditional attire and upload it on the official website of the Odisha Party. In order to increase the consumption of handloom garments, government institutions like Bayanika, Utthika and Sambaluri Textiles are offering discounts of up to 30 percent to customers. In various meetings organized by the district administration, the importance of the protection and tradition of the orthodox Asmita has been highlighted. The campaign will continue till April 14 (Mahabishub Sankranti).
