Malkangiri, 03 June: A commendable step has been taken by the Malkangiri district administration to make the democratic process more robust and inclusive in the district. On the third day of the special union reform campaign, the senior citizens of the district were honored and provided election related services at their residences. The administration has reached out directly to the homes of senior voters aged 85 and 90 years so that they can exercise their democratic rights without facing any problem. Malkangari Additional District Electoral Officers and Booth Level Officers visited various villages and met the senior voters and handed over special enumeration forms to them. The main objective of the campaign is to respect and ensure the rights of these senior citizens who are unable to come to the polling station due to their age. In this series, a special program has been held in Atalguda village under Mathil Block. Senior voters were identified in Attalguda village under part number 85 of Chittagong reserved assembly constituency under the direct supervision of Assistant Election Registration Officer and Community Development Officer of Mathil. Voters above 85 years of age have been respectfully distributed electoral roll forms. This great effort of the district administration has been highly appreciated in the local area. It has been proved through this campaign that no one should be left out in the election process and every eligible citizen will have the opportunity to assert their rights. Administrative officials reached out to senior citizens to understand their health conditions and discuss the election process, which has generated tremendous enthusiasm among senior citizens. Malkangiri District Administration is requesting all the citizens to be careful that no eligible senior or disabled voters in their area are excluded from this special assembly amendment process. If you have a voter in your family or neighborhood who is over 85 years of age or seriously ill, contact your local booth level officer immediately to register their name and facilitate voting from home. Your cooperation will help build a strong and transparent democracy.
