Baripada, 19/05/2026 : Panchayat Executive Officer (PEO) Parshuram Naik of Mirginendi Gram Panchayat under Karanjia Block of Mayurbhanj District was arrested by Odisha Vigilance while taking geese. According to the information, the accused was demanding a bribe of Rs. While the said employee did not get salary from 26.03.2023 to 03.04.2025, despite the order of Vidyo, the same was not issued. The employee repeatedly requested for the release of salary, but Parashuram Nayak insisted on paying. It is alleged that he even threatened that he would not release the money if he did not pay the bribe. Distraught, the employee complained to the vigilance authorities. Later, a team of Odisha Vigilance raided and caught Parasuram Nayak while taking a bribe of 18 thousand rupees. The entire bribe has been seized from the accused.
