It is alleged that a 16-year-old minor was shot dead after being called to the forest for hunting. Madhav Kaher’s son Bibhuhi Kaher (16) died. According to information, on the 18th at around 9 pm, Vibhuhi was preparing to sleep after eating with his family. Meanwhile, Pratap Kaher (30) and Suman Bindhani (25) of the village reached Bibhu’s house with two country guns. They called Vibhuvi to go to the ‘Kamuti’ forest near the village to hunt the coots. Despite repeated refusals from Vibhu’s father, she went to the forest with her friends. About half an hour after leaving the house, the sound of gunshots was heard from the forest. After some time, accused Pratap Kaher came to Vibhuvi’s house and said, “Your son has died in my gunshot”. Family members and villagers went to the spot and found Vibhu’s body in a pool of blood. At this time, the accused Pratap had returned from there. Tikabali police reached the spot immediately after receiving the news and seized the body. A case No. 86/26 has been registered in Tikabali police station on the written complaint of Madhav Kaher, the father of the deceased. The police detained Suman Bindhani, one of the accomplices, and interrogated them and seized two indigenous guns used in the incident. Due to the importance of the incident, a scientific team arrived from Boudh district and conducted investigations from various angles and collected samples. The body has been sent to Phulbali District General Hospital for post-mortem. According to Tikabali police station officer Sameer Kumar Behera, the police are still searching for the main accused. Due to this incident, a mourning atmosphere has been created in the local area.
