
Baripada – 17/10/2025 The first Janjatiya Film Festival-2025 was held at Ranchi in Jharkhand under the auspices of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India and Dr. Ramdayal Munda Tribal Welfare and Research Institute. While registering, 52 short and authentic films were selected for the competition. Out of the 4 short films from Odisha, Ramesh Hembram’s “Puisa Dare” and Deepak Kumar Beshra’s “Papaya” won the 3rd place and brought fame to Odisha. In addition, two other films from Odisha were Shama Sundar Majhi’s “Breaking the Barriers” and Rajmohan. Soren’s “Hende Sona” also got a special place. The Jharkhand government’s Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes Welfare Minister Chamar Linda, Additional Director of Tribal Welfare and Research Institute Rakesh Oraon and filmmaker Meghnad Makhar were present to present the award.
